Activism

Break the silence; end the violence

My professional life is dedicated to empowering individuals through hypnotherapy and counselling. However, my commitment extends beyond the therapy room into passionate activism aimed at ending violence and abuse towards women and girls. This mission is not just a professional calling; it’s a deeply personal one, born from profound loss and a fierce determination to create a safer world.

What Motivates My Activism

My journey into activism was tragically catalysed by the devastating loss of our beloved step-sister and niece to domestic abuse and violence. This unimaginable pain ignited a fire within me, transforming grief into a powerful resolve to fight for change. I believe that no family should endure such a loss, and every woman and girl deserves to live free from fear, abuse, and violence. This personal tragedy fuels my unwavering dedication to raising awareness, advocating for victims, and working towards a future where violence against women and girls is a relic of the past.

What I am doing

My activism work is multifaceted, drawing on my expertise as a therapist and my passion for social change:

Raising Awareness

I actively speak out about the realities of violence and abuse against women and girls, challenging societal norms and breaking the silence that often surrounds these issues. This includes sharing insights on social media, participating in discussions, and highlighting the systemic issues that perpetuate violence.

Motivational Speaking

I deliver powerful motivational talks to diverse audiences, from community groups to corporate settings, inspiring action and fostering a deeper understanding of the impact of violence. My talks aim to empower individuals to recognise warning signs, support survivors, and become active allies in prevention.

Training & Educating

I deliver trauma-informed training and education for multiple different groups: in schools, how to create safer, more supportive learning environments for every child; in the workplace, how to create a psychologically safe workspace for your team; in public sector organisations, how to create a community culture of safety and support.

Empowering Teenagers

A significant part of my work focuses on prevention through empowerment. Through my specialised integrative counselling and hypno-coaching for teenage girls, I equip them with crucial tools for self-esteem, self-belief, boundary setting, and recognising healthy relationships. By fostering strong, confident young women, we build a foundation for a future where they are less vulnerable and more resilient.

How You Can Get Involved

Ending violence towards women and girls requires a collective effort. Here’s how you can join this vital movement:

  • Educate Yourself: Learn about the different forms of violence, its warning signs, and its impact.

  • Speak Out: Challenge misogynistic attitudes, sexist jokes, and any form of violence or harassment you witness. Your voice matters.

  • Support Organisations: Donate, volunteer, or simply share the work of organisations dedicated to supporting survivors and preventing violence.

  • Empower the Next Generation: Encourage open conversations with young people about healthy relationships, consent, and self-worth.

  • Share My Work: Help amplify these messages by sharing my posts and articles on social media.

  • Book a Workshop: Become trauma informed.
